Gong xi ni
Yeay, tbh I don't even understand.. So let me clarify myself.

Dear people, I am Chinese. No, I am Indonesian with Chinese blood, it came from my ancestors and my entire family are all Chinese also.

However, some people often mistaken me as a Japanese, Thai, or even Vietnamese. Considering my big(ger) round eyes, my pointy nose, and my darker skin tone (if compared to my cousins). When I was little people thought my dad came from the state. I didn't mean to praise myself but that happened okay. I appreciate those people who thought so, haha thanks. But I am part of the chinese race, even I have chinese name with my initial "BPF". As what's written in my name everywhere, Burhan is my dad's family name, and originally the chinese name is Bong. However, they said it's Hokkien. idk..

I have a big family. My dad has 11 siblings, which means my grandparents managed to have 12 children. People back then are awesome ikr. In the family tree, me myself is the third youngest among all of my cousins. Most of my cousins are much older than me, they are all (young) adults now, they are in college, working and many are already married, have kids. Despite this, I was rather awkward to socialize with them because I was just a kid. Usually I would hang out with my cousin whom exactly only one year older than me. Luckily, my cousins are all nice and friendly :)

Anyway,
Melrose has been an aunty since 2004. Yes, I have adorable nephews and nieces. Compared to my older cousins they spend more time with the little ones while Melrose is still a baby herself. orz

Taking selfies with my adorable nieces, giving bad influences (duck face, miley cyrus tounge) btw they called me "Zombie".

In my big family, there's a cultural fusion, we have Japanese and Malaysian family members. I have cute Japanese niece and new born baby nephew. They have Japanese names, but still have to add "Burhan" as the last name. Sounds weird? No, that's awesome! Haha

It's Haruka chan (・ω・)ノ~

Look at who's wearing Yukata while others were wearing Cheongsam :")

So that's Haruka Yuna Burhan, she's 2 years old and growing so fast. When she came in yukata I literally wanted to take selfies with her, but she's a really shy girl, eventually I couldn't force her haha. But I could get to play with her, and she's really interested with Doggie!! She's a brave little girl, and ain't afraid of Doggie (my other niece used to be scared).

As always Doggie loves to interact with girls and little kids, however he would get too hyper.

Speaking about Doggie..
During CNY, every year I would put cheongsam outfit on Doggie

he always stays by my side  (exception:food)

Apparently since Doggie is getting fatter, the outfit didn't fit him comfortably, I could only attached 1 button out of three. It looks cute, however last year there was an incident on last year CNY when Doggie was wearing the clothes for whole day and later at night he couldn't walk, something was wrong with his front legs, maybe cramps(?) or keseleo. Then my dad had to massage him using chinese medicine. That's weird but that really happened. Now he's okay, but let's not put on tight clothes until he lost some fats :D

What about the clothes I wore for CNY? I don't have chinese clothes like Cheongsam and I barely have any red outfit, so I decided to wear the dress my parents bought me from Bandung during the new year's break.

taking pics on mirror, dat awkward-looking position..

So it's a peach pink coloured dress (matching with Patrick Star ), with pearl necklace accessory which was already included on the dress, and what I love the most from this dress is obviously the back part!! As you can see, the ribbons on the back are just so lovely. Overall, it's a pretty simple girly dress, considering my dresses are all black.

What did I do during the CNY?
During the day I nearly fell asleep, since my cousins haven't arrived that time, I took selfies and ended snoozing with Doggie in my room

I blurred half of my face okay.

Fortunately I didn't fall asleep and later my cousins start to came one by one. Unlike what we're supposed to do in CNY, us young people spend the day by playing gadgets, laptops, and myself was watching the AsNTM cycle 2 to waste time lol.

Geez our young generation orz hahaha

As time passed by, my body blamed me for starving myself. Here comes time for FOOD!!

These are only some dishes served on CNY, I could only take these pics (before eaten).

I don't really know names of the food, but  as you can see like chicken, pork, veggies, etc. My favourite side dish is pastel (as we call it in bahasa haha). They are not complete without dessert, so there we have varieties of cake and kue lapis is my love! And of course there has to be ORANGES for CNY.

Finally, the most anticipated moment in CNY is when you collect the Angpao (red envelopes) from the adults! Since I have lot of relatives plus many of my cousins are married already, this year I got a lot of Angpao.

*kaching!*

Those I received only from my dad's family. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any from my mom's family, considering they live in Pontianak, Borneo. But that's okay, I think I had enough hahahahaha. Luckily I also got some from my parents' friends.

Wondering how much I got?

...

Guess yourself :p
LOL

Now, what do you think on how should I spend the money?
A good student should spend his/her money to buy past papers for the upcoming IGCSE.

HAHAHA, I ain't gonna spend my money for past papers, I am not a good student orz.

Anyway, I've been considering to get a Penny board and other stuffs for photography & recording my youtube videos.

Please look forward to my YouTube channel, Instagram account, and of course this blog.
:)

So those are stuffs that I did during Chinese New Year 2014. I hope you had a great one. Wish you all luck, health, wealth, and happiness for you and your family!

Thanks for reading!
