Watching The Raid 2

Finally I'm done with my March appreciation posts!! Gosh I feel so proud of myself knowing the fact that I keep my promise and completed all the posts listed~

But last week was pretty much a hell. Last week of mock exams, still I did not study and I literally working my ass off for Art. I have to make at least 4 colored supporting work, yet in 3 months I only finished 2. On the other time, I have to spend time making these appreciation posts. Most of the time I would post it late, over the due date, though no one really cares. Still, everyday I have to edit the photos, type, edit the posts, publish it, and do the same for each post. Usually I'd finish over 12PM, one day I barely finished by 3AM. Now my dark circles are looking terribly bad.

(This post was made on 7th of April, unfortunately I just managed to publish this by April 16th)

Anyway, last Sunday (06/Apr/2014) I went out with my 2 older brothers to watch The Raid 2 in Gandaria City. Since the release of the first movie, I was so damn amazed with that movie, continued with the sequel which is just released last week. I've been waiting ever since the trailer came out, I got so excited to watch The Raid 2. While others prefer watching Divergent or Captain America, I think I'm the only girl who's dying to see The Raid 2 lol

I don't know why, but I just prefer watching such scary-horror-bloody-action movies better than watching some romantic-teenage-love-drama. When The Raid was released, I was also watching with my older brothers in Gancy, and I just realized we watch the sequel just like the first one. Only yesterday the movie starts at 9PM, and the movie itself takes 2 hr 30 min. I was even more excited than thinking it's gonna be a lame long movie. My ass gonna swell. Not to mention that I have school the next morning which is Monday (have ESL oral exam), but who cares #yolo I'm watching.

Since we got the tickets 2 hours earlier than the schedule, I took my brothers to the bookstore because I have to buy A3 sketchbook. No doubt for being a female, instead of getting one sketch book, I continued to wander and buy some other stuffs. That's actually not the first time it happened, before I went shopping at the bookstore with my brothers too. We always ended up spending more money than what's given, because of Ms. Melrose. Last time I always bought some shit loads of pen. My brother's like "do you really need to get a new pen every week?" lol

From bookstore, me and my oldest brother went down to Sour Sally just to waste an hour. We ordered a yoghurt and got "buy one get one promo" in terms that I should post a picture to one of their social feeds, which I haven't. Now I'm just gonna post it here :p

close enough? :p

So I told my brother to take a candid picture of me, and this is how it looks..
oh God,
I'm literally as white as the wall.
fyi I was chewing while pretending to be "busy"

Despite being cold & sour, my tounge was numbing so bad, I couldn't finish my large yoghurt. Then 10 minutes before the movie started, we rushed towards XXI, and I managed to go to the toilet before entering the studio. Both of my brothers were waiting outside, I went in and came out 10 minutes later. I was taking selfies okay.

BUT FIRST LET ME TAKE A SELFIE
#NOMAKEUP #NOFILTER

Finally, we're entering the studio and sat at the back, it's a pretty good spot though. Not long after, the movie started and I already got so excited as hell.

*spoiler**spoiler**spoiler*

Considering that they have more casts featuring some famous Indonesian actors & actress, I found them Indonesian guys are hot #rawr. In this sequel, there are some new characters involved, one of the most popular is probably the "siblings" Hammer Girl & Baseball Bat Guy (a.k.a the assassin duo).

I did expect to see one guy who's been one of my favorite actor. The first time where I saw him was movie Macabre (Rumah Dara), yet another Indonesian bloody & gore movie. He's good looking okay. By the time his first scene appeared, I was fan girl-ing by myself, couldn't stop smiling like a psycho. I hope no one saw me, whoever did probably had goosebumps afterwards.

For the entire 2 hr 30 mins, I dropped my jaw so many times due to the suspense. Even though the sequel consists more dialogue, story plot, and some drama, but the action parts were also worthy to watch, there are some long fights/chase which of course what everyone expects.
This time they also have a fight scene involving cars, so it's kinda like fast & furious with the chasing scene. I thought it's gonna be crappy but NO, it's hard to believe they did the shoot in Jakarta. Damn, I'm speechless!!

Most of the fighting scenes are even more bloodier and brutal compared with the first movie. They involve tools/weapons which are unusual such as hammer, baseball bat, karambit, even paper cutter. You can imagine how much blood is splattered in this entire movie, bloody hell! They did not censor anything so if you don't have the guts to watch some faces being crushed, better close your eyes.

Non-stop fights gave me chills. Geez this guy is so badass how he survived all those hundreds of poor cameos, supporting casts, and literally every villains in the movie. He fought alone against hundreds and still alive, damn fictional movie. But that's better than he's dead in the middle of plot and the story would end then.

Up to the climax, the last scene was very very hanging. They successfully left eft us wondering what's gonna happen next, meaning that yes there will be the third movie, despite being a trilogy. Although there are some parts which I don't really understand what happened, why and how it ended like that, I also can't really relate the sequel with the first movie.. All the dead characters have nothing to do in the sequel which leads to another new story plot(??). Well idk but I can follow with the story in the sequel (un-related with the first one).

Overall, this movie has so many "holy shit" moments, yet it's still one of the most awesome movie I've ever watched, and it's from Indonesia FTW!! They got me mind blown, ear gasm, and ovaries explosion. I totally recommend The Raid (1&2) to action movie lovers, you will definitely enjoy the 150 minutes of this masterpiece.

*spoiler ends here*

After it's finished, I went to the toilet again, as expected of course it was crowded. That time when I was in the toilet, I heard a mom with her little daughter conversing,
"dek, how was the movie?"
"it's sooo long"
"you don't like it? you get bored ya?"
"it's too long!"
"was it good?"
"it's good but the guys are scary"

Dear, it's a R-rated movie, you have to be at least 17 to watch this.
That struggle when you can't buy the tickets without having an ID.. :")

Btw they have this pretty big mirror which I always wanted to have this kind of mirror in my room.. orz

It was 11.50 PM, shops are closed, lights are out. We went to the parking lot in darkness, at first I feel like Running Man (that moment when they're running in shopping malls at night), but since it's dark, it's somehow looking more like a zombie apocalypse out-break.

So my first Sunday night in April was well spent! I regretted nothing! Had a good time with my bros as well.
Thumbs up to the director, producer, casts, and crews for successful "The Raid 2 - Berandal". Awesome movie!!
★★★★★
The Raid 3, better come out in less than 3 years! I will be watching!!
